About

The Graduate Institute of Metabolism and Obesity Sciences (GIMOS) is a leading institution in nutritional research within Taiwan. We integrate multidisciplinary knowledge from fields such as nutrition, medicine, health care, and public health to deeply explore the role of nutrition and its related mechanisms in disease metabolism and obesity prevention. Our educational mission is to advance translational medicine by providing foundational courses and specialized training in human, animal, and cellular research methods, multi-omics technologies, and big data analysis. Through this, we aim to cultivate the next generation of clinical research experts and nutritional translation professionals.

In recent years, research on the gut microbiome has garnered significant attention, revealing that the balance of gut microbiota is crucial for health and is closely linked to numerous diseases. These include gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, neuropsychiatric disorders, and cancer.

Consequently, the study of the link between diet, the gut microbiome, and disease metabolic mechanisms has become one of our core research focuses. Furthermore, we actively embrace our social responsibilities by leveraging the university's extensive clinical research resources. Our goal is to train nutritional translation professionals with skills in community prevention and clinical participation, thereby promoting the sustainable development of research in disease metabolic regulation.
