Discover the TMU European Cultural Festival 2024, hosted by the TMU Office of Global Engagement from April 26th to May 3rd. The festival aims to promote global awareness on the TMU campus, with a special focus on European cultures. TMU faculty, students, and nearby community members can enjoy a variety of activities including lectures, a European fair, and movie nights, providing opportunities to learn more about European heritage and expand their cultural knowledge. Director Audrey Diwan explores the issue of women’s bodily autonomy through the story of illegal abortion in 1960s France depicted in “Happening.” Especially relevant in today’s #MeToo era and amidst ongoing debates over abortion rights in the United States, the film prompts profound reflection.

The two-day fair will gather fruitful food and handicrafts from various European countries, showcasing the rich cultural atmosphere and characteristics of Europe. In addition, representatives from the French Office in Taipei and other foreign offices in Taiwan are invited to join the event, sharing the latest cultural insights and educational exchange opportunities at TMU campus. During the fair, there will also be a point collection game, providing participants with a chance to win prizes such as keyboards and cameras. Come and join the fun!
